PS Duchess of Hamilton

Following on from my last post about civilised methods of travel.
A couple of images of the Paddle Steamer Duchess of Hamilton, sometimes called a ‘Club Steamer’. Here she is leaving Campbeltown in the late c1890’s

This elegant ship was renamed HMS Duchess of Montrose when she was requisitioned by the Admiralty in March 1915, subsequently she was lost after being mined later that same year on the 29th November.
