Duchess of Hamilton Paddle Steamer leaving Campbeltown - 2

Following on from my last post about civilised methods of travel.
A couple of images of the Paddle Steamer Duchess of Hamilton, sometimes called a ‘Club Steamer’.

Owned by the Caledonian Steam Packet Co. Ltd., Glasgow

Here she is leaving Campbeltown in (more than likely) 1903 with what appears to be HMS Northampton in the background.

This elegant ship was renamed HMS Duchess of Montrose when she was requisitioned by the Admiralty in March 1915, subsequently she was lost after being mined off Longsand (51.47N – 01.40E) later that same year on the 29th November.
